I have recently engaged in a lot of baking using my trusty old bread machine. I started using King Arthur Bread Flour, an excellent product. I saw a post on a cooking website noting that King Arthur Bread Flour used to be sold at my favorite market “Trader Joe’s”. It has now been discontinued there, replaced by Unbleached All Purpose Flour under a Trader Joe’s (TJ’s) private label. The writer suggested that the TJ’s brand all purpose flour may be similar to King Arthur Bread Flour. I have compared nutritional facts and ingredients on both products and they appear identical. I have tested the TJ’s Unbleached All Purpose flour and it works very well in my recipes calling for bread flour. Try it out!
Tip: Look for Internet posts on products you use to identify great private label products and test them out. You could save a lot of $!
